Construction workers turned up for the demonstration on 8 February supporting Barts hospital workers outsourced to private company SERCO.
Cleaners, porters, security guards, receptionists and catering staff from St Bart’s, the Royal London and Whipps Cross are striking for pay justice, and they need YOU!
As outsourced workers, employed by Serco at Barts Health Trust, they’re paid 15% less than directly employed NHS staff – despite doing exactly the same job.
Enough is enough – it’s time to end this injustice.
Please back their fight. Support the Serco Barts strikers today:
- Tweet your messages of support on all social channels: #PayUp @NHSBartsHealth @SercoGroup #PayJusticeNow
Unite is demanding pay justice and:
- Fair pay now – Improve the pay offer and close the 15% pay gap between outsourced workers and directly employed NHS staff doing the same job.
- End outsourcing – Bring cleaning, catering and other services back in-house and pay them NHS rates.
- Stop the exploitation and bullying of this mainly Black, Asian and Ethnic minority workforce.
