Tens of thousands turned out yet again – in defiance of government attempts yet again to label them as hate-mongers and terrorist supporters.
Unite banners were prominent as usual – except for a national Unite banner.
Police handed out leaflets to marchers designed to suggest that they might engage in hate speech or behaviour. In a demonstration of a new crack-down on the democratic right to protest, police kettled a section of the march for some hours.
